‘X-ray Free Electron Lasers are able to generate extremely intense X-rays in a short amount of time (femtosecond) using a highly focused beam. This enables data collection on nano size crystals and capturing dynamics data in the nano to pico second regime which is currently not possible with synchrotrons.’
